Minister of State for Personnel in the Union Government Jitendra Singh gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha

The government conducts CSE examinations for these posts


The Central Government has increased the number of IPS (Indian Police Service) under UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Civil Service (CSE) 2020. With the increase, recruitment will now be done for 200 posts in IPS. So far its number was 150. Minister of State for Personnel in the Union Government Jitendra Singh gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

Union Minister replies in

Lok Sabha In a written reply to the Lok Sabha , the Union Minister said that 180 IAS officers were recruited every year after CSE-2018 with the recommendations of the Baswan Committee and the approval of the competent officer. While the number of IPS officers was only 150. Now it has been increased to 200 after CSE-2020.

Examination is held for recruitment for posts like IAS, IPS.

UPSC conducts CSE for vacancies in IAS, IPS and other services every year. The exam takes place in Prelims, Main and Interview M3 rounds. Candidates who are successful in all the three rounds are appointed.
